Aromatherapy and Antacids

The body is a system of well-designed parts that must be balanced to work in the utmost level that is was created to function in.  However, sometimes, the balance between acids and alkaline may become upset within the body.  This can occur in the stomach, the blood, and even in the bowels.  By using various Aromatherapy treatments, infusions, and herbal remedies you can bring the body back into balance and neutralize many of these acids that have become upset or out of sync with the rest of the body.  Many of these herbs have been used for thousands of years and are just as powerful in treating antacid as they were then.

antacids Wood Betony is a woody plant that was used during the Middle Ages and was believed to cure everything from blood conditions to warding off evil spirits.  Today, it is still well recognized as being a powerful herb that will promote cleanliness of the blood stream and promote peace and balance to those suffering from nervous conditions and anxiety.  In the past, Wood Betony was used to cure headaches, and the dried herb was smoked in this effect.  You can make an infusion of Wood Betony by taking one ounce of the dried herb and pouring one pint of boiling water over the herbs.  Let steep and use the infusion for drinking as tea, or pour it into a bath for healing.

Comfrey is another herb that has medicinal value as an antacid.  It has been recommended and used for over one hundred years in the treatment of stomach ailments.  It is also used in the treatment of upset stomach, nausea, and diarrhea.  Comfrey is also an expectorant that can be used to treat chronic coughs and respiratory illnesses.  To make an infusion of Comfrey, simply use the leaves of the Comfrey plant.  An infusion is made by using one ounce of the dried leaves to one pint of boiling water.  The infusion may be made as tea, or poured into a seeping bath.

Slippery Elm is not just a remedy for treating upset stomach, but in the realm of herbal properties, Slippery Elm is known for its tremendous healing benefits.  You can find Slippery Elm in powdered form, which can then be infused with a pint of boiling water.  Not only will Slippery Elm treat stomach ailments, it is also beneficial for treating coughs, bronchitis, diarrhea, worms, and much more.  Native Americans used the leaves and other parts of the Slippery Elm tree for making poultices, salves, and other healing balms.  You may drink the infusion directly, or add it to your vaporizer for treating other conditions such as coughs and respiratory illness.

Raspberry may be mixed with Slippery Elm for a fantastic internal cleanse.  Red Raspberry Tea may be made by taking one ounce of dried Raspberry leaves and infuse it with one pint of boiling water.  Drink the tea for the reduction of stomach acids, for the treatment of diarrhea, or nausea. Burning a Raspberry oil aromatherapy candle as well might enhance the above-mentioned herbal remedies.
